Nostalgia: CF-101 Voodoos

Some eye candy for the interceptor lovers out there:  a short vid of 12 Canadian Forces Voodoos flying in formation.

Your humble e-scribbler once met a Voodoo backseat guy who had been on exchange with the Brits in Tornado fighters. He was amazed at how quiet they were.  In the Voodoo, he said, you could tell how fast you were going by how loudly you had to yell so the driver could hear you.

Ah yes, the last vestige of the Diefenbaker days and the cancellation of the Avro Arrow. We settled for Bomarc missiles and second-hand, ex-USAF Voodoos. They were beautiful ships, especially crowd-pleasing at airshows when they would hammer in the afterburners sequentially right in the middle of the show line. Made one's chest reverberate.

Great video. I've actually got a large section of fuselage skin from the nose of Voodoo 101-001 that has the black painted 001 on it. Unfortunately scrapped back in the 90s. It would be nice if someone restored one back to flying condition.
