Check it out.
Frank Coleman thinks everything is fantastic in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Meh.
Frank doesn’t seem to know much beyond what someone in his gaggle of backers writes for him. Nice guy. Almost hopelessly introverted and someone roped him into politics. You’d almost feel sorry for the guy.
Almost.
If Frank actually had any idea what was going on in the province, he wouldn’t be promising more of the same. He’d be talking about change.
For one thing, if he had a clue about what was on the go, Frank would understand that a province that is shedding jobs like Newfoundland and Labrador is not doing well.
In the most recent set of job numbers from Statistics Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador shed about 12,000 full-time jobs compared to this time last year and 5,000 from April to May. Alberta, by contrast, created 71,000 full-time jobs year over year and 16,000 month-to-month.
Brutal.
Saskatchewan? Created almost 10,000 full-time jobs year over year and a bit of 6,000 month-to-month.
Looks more like an un-booming economy, wouldn’t you agree?
