All of us need to think of our citizenship in terms of what we can do in our communities and halfway around the world.

I say to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians: "Ask not what we can do for our country, because we have done enough. Let's ask our country what they can do for us."

surely you could have included a gem from Bill Rowe...
Ed you appear to be an intelligent guy but I have long ago given up reading your blog....
The reason in one word - predictable.
Your writing has the reliability and predictability of a lighthouse.
So if you gave up reading, then why did you read this and why did you comment on it?
Evidently you still read and don't find it that predictable at all.
Having the reliability and predictability of a lighthouse would be a good thing. Lighthouses keep you from going up on the rocks, which is after all, the point of the exercise.
Was that supposed to be an insult or was it a compliment?
He was probably talking about the lighthouses that need to be refurbished/renovated...lol
No he is referring to the Lighthouses that have been downgraded and destroyed by the federal government of Canada
Is there a provincial Government of Canada, as well?
or any provincial government with responsibility for lighthouses?
